The World This Week From Mennies

Saturday 23 July 2022

Another week in and a busy one at that. Found my way down to Mennies for a refreshment.

Looking at the week past and the news waves have been dominated by the struggle to choose a leader of the Tory party and indeed a new prim minister of the UK.
We now have two contenders Sunak and Truss. Oh dear oh dear , it is the equivalent of choosing between Laurel and Hardy, but mind you, the membership of the Tory party have plenty experience in this as the last time they chose the clown Johnston and look what a mess he left.

I have a feeling they will choose Truss as it would appear she seems to be getting most of the press, which tells me that the powers behind the scene are behind her.

Now Truss is as thick as two short planks of wood and therein lies the reason for her support. She will be easily manipulated.

Sunak is coloured and therefore has a major handicap in conservative circles.

One of Truss’s masterpieces as foreign secretary was to encourage young men to illegally go and fight in Ukraine against Russia. Some did and were killed. One young man was captured and us now on death row, no apology from Truss.

I read a wonderfully accurate blog today by Peter Young, titled Patriots and Traitors and I post it below with a strong recommendation to read it. I basicly implies what I have been saying from 2015. The SNP have been seriously compromised by the UK intelegence services and that is why we are where we are on the road to independence, absolutely no where. Have read it will open your eyes in a more eloquent manner than I ever could

Elsewhere the war in Ukraine goes on . Russia is winning and freeing more of the independent Donbas area by the day. America is once again loosing in their proxy war. Another attempt at regime change gone wrong. When will they learn.

The other day there was an agreement to allow grain shipments from Ukraine in order to alleviate some of the world wide food shortages brought about by idiotic sanctions on Russia. Today there was a report of a missile attack on a target very close to the port in Odessa which forms part of the agreed corridor for wheat exports. Of course there was the usual condemnation of Russia attacking agreed safe areas. Now I have not heard but I would bet my bottom dollar ( or rubble for that matter) that the target hit was military hardware deliberately hidden in the safe area by the Ukrainian army. That is what they have been doing throughout the war , using civilian infrastructure , sometimes with the civilians still in it, as emplacements and firing points.

Ok so enough of politics for one night and back to the buisness at hand, which is a couple of relaxing pints.

Please have a read of the blog below by a Peter young

I have been in business for well over half a century but I learn something new every day. My politics are the middle of the road. I believe that the far-right and far-left are equally harmful. Jim Murphy ( at that time, leader of the Scottish Labour party) asked me if I called myself a socialist. I said, "no Jim, I am not a socialist, I am a capitalist, but a capitalist with a social conscience.

I agree, Truss has been chosen as the next PM by the financial backers of the Tory Party and the press, and behind the scenes, the MPs will guide the Tory Party members to vote for her. Both Truss and Sunak are as thick as but Sunak looks like a foreigner and the Tories as we all know don’t like foreigners so he’s not going to make it. We seem to be in a race to the bottom as far as 99% of our politicians go in all parties now and there just doesn’t appear to be a bottom any longer, just gets worse year on year. I keep living in hope that Alba can make a breakthrough but they are still too tame for me in so many ways but along with ISP are all we have right now, the SNP went all unionist a while back now under Sturgeon and I still live in hope that the Unions in England form their own party in some way to combat the two right wing red and blue Tory Parties.

I haven’t really said all that much about Ukraine, Russia are winning the war on all fronts although the media don’t want you to know that. The USA/EU/UK are not serious about supporting Ukraine at all, all a game to those ne0-liberal nightmares. If they were serious then they would not be buying oil/gas/food/chemicals from Russia and funding the war with currency. We are giving Ukraine the weapons we don’t need anymore so we can go and by new ones that we do want, all just a game of risk with the sad fact that people on both sides are paying the high price with their lives due to the idiocy and games 0f sub standard politicians in the West forcing a nut job like Putin to feel like he is being invaded by NATO. Total disaster and avoidable if people would just put as much effort and money into actually caring for people.

The world is a disaster right now with big business calling the shots, politicians bought and paid for all over the world, people too cowered to do anything about it and here we are. I am not usually a conspiracy theorist but it is hard to avoid feeling that we are being played now in every way and are just too afraid in too many cases, ignorant and stupid in other ways for too many voters, so we do nothing about it and people put their faith in the likes of Sturgeon, says it all.

    1. Yes Bruce there is a lot going on at the moment and all designed to remove even more liberty than at the moment meanwhile the results of Brexit are before our eyes and still the press stand back and obfuscate. When Truss gets crowned we will be back to where we were with Johnston
